January 16, 2025 – Spring Green Communications, an agency serving Fortune 100 clients, is announcing a significant leadership transition. Tia Over, previously executive vice president and chief operating officer, is the agency’s new president and owner.
Agency founder Melissa Mathews is supporting Tia through the planned transition and continuing to serve clients.
“Many years ago, Tia took a leap of faith, joining Spring Green when we were just a startup. She proved herself time and time again – as an employee, then an executive and most recently as a partner. She has been indispensable in helping grow Spring Green into the successful agency it is today,” Melissa said. “Tia is an amazing leader, communicator, and now a dear friend. I am excited for the opportunity ahead for her, for our team and for the clients we serve.”
Tia joined Spring Green Communications in 2011, a year after Melissa founded one of the industry’s first fully remote, fully distributed communications agencies. Since that time, Spring Green, née The Mathews Group, has more than tripled its revenue, expanded its talent pool, and diversified its client base to include leading global companies in energy and aerospace, as well as a Tier-1 research university and recognized voices in engineering, science and law.

Melissa and Tia first met at the nation’s space agency, working as colleagues in the Office of Public Affairs at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and shared a passion for helping scientists and engineers communicate their work. Tia joined Spring Green after a stint at WE Communications as an account lead on the Microsoft enterprise IT business.
