Donna Gorman

Communications Consultant

Donna Scaramastra Gorman joined Spring Green Communications in 2017 but she has worked as a writer and editor in various capacities, and in many places on the globe, since the last century.

Donna started her career as an advertising executive at BBDO Los Angeles before moving to Moscow, Russia, where she found work as a newsletter editor and writer. From there she moved to Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Jordan, and back to Russia again. In all of those places she found ways to write for a living.

Her essays and articles have been published in Time magazine, Newsweek, the Washington Post, the Christian Science Monitor and many other outlets. In addition, she is the author of the book “Am I Going to Starve to Death?: A Survival Guide for the Foreign Service Spouse.”

Donna has a master’s degree in Slavic languages and literatures from the University of Southern California, where she also taught first-year Russian language classes.

Donna moved back to the Washington, D.C., area in 2022. When she’s not working, she’s driving carpool, walking the dog or reading.
